Summer time fun

We Love going to Lake Mead
We go to Temple Bar. It is on the Arizona side of the lake. Not a lot of people and some fun places to beach it.

The water level has dropped a ton. When we went earlier it was down about 25 ft from last year. This past week we went again and it had gone down another 10 ft. The drought has taken its toll on the lake.

It is a beautiful lake.

I love the formations

Paddy loves the lake.

Playing in the water is so much fun. Amazing how fast time flies when you are having so much fun.

Sleeping time.

We decided to move to a different part of the since it was getting a little windy. Apparently we got some sand in the motor. So off we went and the motor didn't sound right. We attempted to go again and you could smell smoke. I hope the boat is okay. Good thing we had 2 boats out. Dad pulls us back to the dock with his bass boat.

During the ride back we took silly pictures and my girls and the grand kids sang songs from frozen. It was so fun and we laughed. Of course the men in the bass boat didn't see or hear any of it. I love hearing the family laughing and singing and having so much fun.

It turned out that it was a good thing we came in. We loaded up the boats and headed home. As we were driving we ran into several rain storms. All of them heading towards the lake where we were.
On our way home before we reached the dam, we hit the wall of a heavy thunder storm and it rained so hard we could only go 40 mph because it was so hard to see the road. Gotta love monsoon season in Las Vegas.

I Love to see the Temple

I love the temple. This is my favorite temple. It is the Manti temple located in Manti Utah.
It has been a long time since I went there.
I joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on July 27, 1974
I was 18 when I joined the church.
I was taught by 2 amazing missionaries Elder Tom Wall and Elder Alvin Cottrell.
I learned about the temple.
I had my first opportunity to go and do baptisms.
Dad Summers taught me about how special it was to go to the temple.
It is a special place, a sacred place.
He taught me to fast and pray before I go so that I can feel of the spirit that is there.
I remember how excited I was to go. I had prepared to go.
I went with the young adults. It was so beautiful.
I remember standing outside and looking up at the temple and thinking how so very lucky I was to be able to go into the House of the Lord. I was going to be so close to my Heavenly Father there.
That day held so many special memories and a spiritual experience I will never ever forget. IT was so beautiful.
I love this temple because it is the temple I went to before I left on my mission.
I made sacred covenants here.
It has special meaning to me. It is a very special place.

It took a long time for me to come back here. Not that I haven't been to a temple. IT has just taken me a long time to come back to Manti.
My dear friend Jeana lives just outside of Manti. So, I went to go visit her and we went to the temple. I have to say going with such a special friend made it special too. I was married here and sad to say the marriage didn't even last. So that was part of why I didn't come back. I thought it would be difficult and bring back bad memories. But you know what? IT just brought back the memories of my first time and when I went before my mission. Heavenly Father understood my fears and made sure it was special for me. IT was beautiful.
I do love the temple. I love the way I feel when I am there.
IT is a place of beauty, peace, and abounding love.

Karli picks out her first pet.

Going to get her first pet. Papa, Tutu, Mommy and Daddy and her sisters.
Karli talked about getting a hamster for several weeks. She would search on the internet for her cage and found one. She would look for toys and other thing for her hamster. To say she was excited would be an understatement.
She had wanted to go on Friday but it didn't work out and she was so disappointed. She wanted to get it now. We promised her we would take her on Saturday and she didn't think it would happen either. So, Papa promised we would go. Saturday morning came and she was all smiles. She kept saying I want two so they won't be lonely. She had a set color in mind for each of them.

We got to the store and she was so surprised to see so many different kinds and in so many different colors. She kept looking and just had a hard time deciding. She saw mini ones, small ones and teddy bear looking ones. Oh to decide which to choose. After looking she finally decided she like the mini ones the most. She picked out the color. She picked out chew toys and a fun hiding spot for their cage.
As can be seen in the picture, she was very excited with her new pets.

Karli attempted to put them in her cage but they were so squirmy and fast. She almost dropped one. So, Papa helped put the other one in the cage.
When we walked into Karli and Leila's room, Karli had made this cute sign. She was embarrassed when she saw that I had seen it and proceeded to erase it. She then said that is not what their names are. I told her I already took a picture of it and I thought it was so sweet. It was ok then.
I loved that she was so excited to get her hamsters. She talked about how she gets to watch them every day. I am so excited for you too Karli. I think you are going to make a great mom for your hamsters.
