Well, here is the first ultra sound of the new baby Summers in the De La Rosa Family. Its hard to believe. I just love being a grandma!!!

Our Trip to Santa Barbara

Our Trip to Santa Barbara We left on Friday Jan 15. The plan was to leave by 10am but Rich never is ready on time. We as usual left an hour later. We were headed for Santa Brabara area. We were going up into the Mountains to a place called Rancho Oso. We have never been there before so we weren’t quite sure what to expect. Danny was excited to find out they had horses he could ride. On Saturday morning at 11 we went down to the corrals and watched the dog herding of the bulls. After that thy did a bull riding demo. It was interesting to see how they trained the bulls. Danny loved watching them. On Sunday we went horseback riding at 9AM and rode for an hour. It was slow paced but we had fun. It was really a good pace for Danny as it was his first ride by himself. I took only a couple of pictures because we never stopped long enough for me to take any. Dads horse kept wanting to stop and eat so he slowed Danny and I down. Danny’s horse; according to Danny; was bigger then dads. After we rode the horses, we went back to the motor home and got the car. We decided to go adventure out and look at the area. It is so beautiful here. I love the ranch. The area around here offers hiking, bike riding there is a river close by. Lots of places to picnic and camp. All are in beautiful areas. We then drove over to the lake. Lake Cachuma is only about 20 minutes away. Rich wanted to see what it looked like. It was a very pretty lake. The is lots to see there. Rich is looking forward to coming back to go boating here. Its not that far from San Jose. Only about 4 ½ hrs away. After we saw the lake, we then drove to Salvang. It is a really cute Scandinavian town. We have great memories with the kids when they were small there. So, we wanted Danny to enjoy it too. We rented one of their surrey’s and rode around the town. I think Danny had fun. Rich and I pedaled round for a while and then Danny wanted to try it. So, we let Danny give it a try. He had fun doing it. At one point I was laughing so hard I couldn’t even pedal. Rich and I were trying to go up hill and were having a hard time doing it. You try pedaling with 350 lbs and see how far you can get. LOL After we went riding, I walked the shops while Danny and Rich stayed in the car. So, needless to say I didn’t spend much time looking around. We then came back home to the RV and had dinner. Rich BBQed steak and Ribs. While Rich was BBQing, he was surprised by the raccoons. There were 3 who were a little aggressive. After a while we found that they really weren’t aggressive at all but were used to people. They just wanted in the RV. They were hungry. I took some pictures of them. So did Rich. We finally shooed them away. We look forward to going back to Rancho Oso again. It was great fun!!! Danny’s thoughts: Thinks leaving is very bad. Wants to stay and have more fun. We saw new born calves. They were born on Sat morning and Sat night. One was brown and the other was black and white. The cows were very potetvie of their babies. Danny loved the horses. His favorite was brown with a white stripe on its face. I took a picture of it for Danny. The horses there were trained to follow each other on the trail. The trail was very narrow in some area. We rode across the riverbed. Danny’s horses name was Boxer. He could tell it was well trained. Mom’s horse was called Big Red. Dad’s horse was called Fudge. The bulls were very protective of their territory. The dogs tried to round them up. The gold dog named Teague. The black was called Oso. The trainer was called Adrian. Teague would chase the cattle and would scare them to go in the direction he wanted them to go. Oso snuck up on them and took the cattle slowly to Adrian. The cattle followed Oso better then they did with Teague. The bucking bulls were fun to watch. Short Fuse would buck very high and would slam against the gate trying to get out. Sizzles would do something similar but not as much as Short Fuse.

I am going to be a Grandma Again X2

I am so excited to announce that I am going to be a Grandma again. X2!! I have 2 daughters having babies. Wow !!! Nikki and John are expecting their second child in Aug. Rich is hoping it will be on his birthday. We will see!! Alicia and Chris are going to be first time parents in Oct. Wow!!! They both are excited about the prospect of becoming parents. I am happy for them. There in nothing like the excitement, worry, uncertainty with being a first time parent. I know they will be great. Just be patient Chris with dealing with raging hormones and morning sickness. It too will pass. Remember the final goal will be amazing for both of you!!! So, in one year we will be the proud grand parents of 4 beautiful grand children. oh how I do love being a grand parent. There in nothing like it!!! Oh and then if that weren't exciting enough, My brother Ken and his wife Johanna are expecting also. They are due in Sept. I am so excited for you guys too!!

December Family Christmas

It was great being able to spend time with our family. I love being together and the fun we enjoy together. I love spending time talking and playing games and just being together. We spent Christmas in Vegas. Which we love to do. We were able to watch our grandchildren open up their Christmas gifts on Christmas day. Christmas gifts are really about the kids. I love the expressions on their faces as they see each gift they got. I made the decision this year to give more from the heart and not so much commercially. I have gotten into photography this year and so I made some photo cards to give as gifts to not only family but friends also. It was amazing the response I got. It made me feel so special. I also made photo albums for the girls so they could put their Christmas pictures in them. I know that giving from my heart made a difference for me this year. For Danny I decided to give him cash so he could pick out what he wanted. The look on his face to see "all that money" was priceless. Alicia and Chris came just after Christmas and it was great being with them also. I especially loved the ballerina Alicia spent special thought over. It will be a treasured gift for years to come. While Alicia and Chris were here, we went up to the snow and had fun playing in the snow. They all built a huge snowman and I had a great time taking pictures. I will post some of them soon. I am truly blessed to have a wonderful family. I love them deeply and count myself so blessed to have them in my life.
