We are rapidly approaching Christmas

I am amazed how quickly this year has flown by. I still can't believe its only a week before Christmas and two weeks before the close of 2009. I have a very eventful year. It has many wonderful blessings which I am so grateful for. As I reflect on this year, I can't but be truly grateful for all the blessings I have received. I am so blessed with a loving family. I have beautiful sons and daughters who make me proud. I have a loving husband who does everything he can for our family. I have wonderful son-in-laws who treat my daughters with love and respect and those who have the priesthood honor that priesthood and I love and appreciate each of them. Richie has a wonderful girlfriend (which I hope he marries) (hint hint LOL) whom is amazing.

I now have 4 beautiful grand babies who are my pride and joy! And I have an amzing new brother and his family. What a blessing they are to me.

I got such a wonderful birthday gift this year with the surprise of a new brother. What a blessing he is in my life. I am still in awe and so thrilled to have him a part of our family. His children and wife are all amazing and have welcomed me into their family also. What greater gift could I ask for? Thanks John for seeking me out a nd being so warm and caring. This pat year also brought the loss of my Father-in-law. Gilbert Leon De La Rosa. We have many fond memories of family gathering with him. Many of which make us laugh. It also breaks my heart that my sister Helen and brother Bert still continue to choose not to be a part of our family. I only wish them happiness and pray that some day they will be a part of our family again. Our precious Leila was blessed this month and I was again given the opportunity to make a blessing gown. She was beautiful.

Danny is doing great. He enjoys school. He made the honor roll this year. He continues to make new friends. As for me, I just got accepted on at the Clark County School District as a support sub. I am looking forward to that. I also continue to take pictures and learn more every day in doing so. I hope to take a class in Jan on photography and be even better. I love going on trips and taking such amazing pictures. I just can't say enough how grateful and blessed I have been this past yer. I am so thankful for a loving Heavenly Father who has blessed my life. I am thankful for His loving guidance in my life. Well this has gotten rather long. I want to wish each of you a very Merry Christmas and the Happiest of New Years. May 2010 be even better then 2009. God Bless Us every one.

Playing catch up!!

Wow where has the time gone. I have been so busy with all the excitement since Aug til now. I have had so much going on in my life. I an truly blessed. I have so much to be thankful for. I am especially thankful for my family. They mean the world to me. I am just going to post pictures I have taken over the past few weeks. They will include my newest grand babies, my new brother and his family, and my visit with Kenny and Johanna. I got to see mom and dad Summers too. Like I said my life has been full these past few weeks.

We are together as a family in Arizona

It was nice that we all got together for the weekend. It was great spending time together. Richie was missing but we still enjoyed the time as a family. We took the opportunity to take pictures. I am thrilled we got cute pictures. You see Nikki and Alicia with their new babies. The are a month and 3 days apart in age. then we have the girls with their babies all together. Of course we had to have Papa and TuTu with all their beautiful grand babies together. And we have Danny on the tube. We had a great weekend. Family is such a blessing.

We have a new Grand son. Austin Lewis Summers

I am so thrilled to welcome into our family our newest grand baby. Our little Austin Lewis Summers arrived in all his glory on Sept 16, 2009. He was born at 10:31pm weighing 7lbs. 40z. and was 20.5 inches long. He decided he didn't want to wait for his due date and arrived 2 weeks and 3 days early. He would be huge if he waited til Oct 1. As is with all our grand babies, Austin shares his birthday also. He shares it with Uncle Henry. Wow what a tradition we have going now. Rich and I were able to be there when Austin was born. There is nothing like being a grandparent! We love it. Alica did great and Chris was an awesome coach for Alicia. They are going to be great parents.

I meet my brother! Wow!

I flew to Colorado to meet a brother I never knew I had. Apparently mom had a baby and placed him up for adoption at birth. I knew there was family secrets but wasn't sure just what they were. Now I am finding out about the secrets. John found me when the state of Colorado opened up their sealed adoptions. He always knew he was adopted and wanted to find out more. He was able to find me through my genealogy research online. With the help of great friends he was able to locate me and contacted me. We talked on the phone daily or text daily for the last couple of months. Thus we got to know each other a little bit before we actually met in person. We got to know what we liked and didn't like. We learned about the similarities we have in our lives. It is amazing how our lives paralleled each others. We even have the same mannerisms. How fun is that. We had a great time together just getting to know more. I got to meet his special friends, his family, and his adoptive family. They are all so wonderful and made me feel so much a part of them. It was amazing. I am looking forward to the time our families get together and we can share new memories together as one big family. Rich has been so great through all this. He has taken this journey with me. I am so greatful for him and am so loved. Thanks Rich for being my rock. I love you so much. I love my new family and look forward to all the memories we will make together.

In Memory of Gilbert Leon De La Rosa

My father-in-law passed away peacefully with family at his side on Sept 4.

I have been truly blessed to have had such a good man as my father-in-law. Even tho at times he got confused as to who we were, he always had a way to make us laugh. He had a way to make everyone laugh. He even laughed at himself. We had a beautiful vigil and lots of memories have been shared. We laughed about how everyone was either sweetheart, monkey face or grandma. He was loved by so many. He loved everyone. He was giving. He was proud of his children and grand children and even his great granchildren.

Thanks for the wonderful years you shared with us and the many memories which we will hold in our hearts forever. We will miss you so much. Give Esther a big hug and kiss from all of us and enjoy being with your family in Heaven. We love you!

We have a new Grand Daughter!!!

Leila Naomi Hansen made her grand appearance on Thursday Aug 13th. Of course it was Papa's (Rich) birthday. He was thrilled to share his birthday with her. He was hoping all along that she would be born on his birthday. She was born at 4:14pm and weighed 7lbs. 1oz. and was 19" long. She has beautiful dark hair.

We were in the delivery room when she was born and there is nothing like seeing the birth of children. These very precious spirits from heaven. We are so blessed. I loved being there and being able to take pictures. One of my favorites is of Karli seeing her baby sister for the first time. It is just priceless.

We had a bit of a scare just before she was born. Her heart rate dropped down to 59 and so the nurse said "We are delivering this baby now!" The doctor came in and delivered her and she was beautiful. She had the cord wrapped in a single loop around her neck which he quick lifted up and over her head.

I can't explain in words how wonderful and meaningful it is to me to be able to be in the delivery room with my daughters and see my grand children born. It just fills my heart so full. I can't begin to explain the feelings I feel.

My daughters mean the world to me and for them to allow me in the delivery room with them to share that precious moment with them is priceless beyond measure. It makes me wonder if this is the way Heavenly Father feels each time he sees one of his precious spirits come into each new family. What love he has for all of us. I am truly thankful!!!

Nikki and Leila are now home and we are enjoying every moment with them.

Settling in in Vegas.

Well, we are now home in Vegas. It has been nice to be back with the girls and the grand babies. I really enjoy being with all of them. There is nothing like being with those you love. Rich was here for a week and then back to San Jose for work. It was good for him. He worked out in the yard with John and made it look really nice. They trimmed the trees and plants. We had our annual 4th of July party with friends and family. A great time was had by all. Of course the fireworks show was a big hit. It is something we have enjoyed over the last 7yrs since we have had our home here in Vegas. It gets bigger and bigger every year. Of course we now have a "party home" as Rich calls it. I had a wonderful birthday. Nikki and Amber took me to lunch and a movie. Rich and I went out to dinner and I got a great surprise for my birthday. There will be nothing that can top it. I will explain at a later date. Just know it was amazing!! I am so enjoying spending time with my grand babies. Karli makes me laugh constantly and Carson is so cute when we get together. I love the way he gives his loves and kisses. He is so little and so cute. I am so lucky to be with them. I am also glad to be closer to Alicia. I am looking forward to spending time with her and the baby when he comes. I enjoyed going to her baby shower and meeting her friends and seeing some old family friends as well. I am thrilled to be a grandmother and love my grand babies dearly. I can't wait for the arrival of 2 more in then next few weeks. Nikki is due Aug 13. She is set to go in at 6am. That is if she doesn't go in before then. And then Alicia is due Oct 1 but suspects she will deliver in Sept. Life is great. I never cease to be amazed at how simple life's pleasures can be. Things are just things but family is the greatest gift ever. I am so blessed by all my family. I am thankful for all those who love and support me. It has truly been a blessing in my life. Time with those you care for and love way out weighs any worldly possessions anyone could ever obtain. I don't ever want to be worldly or boastful with possessions because to me it just shows ignorance. But that's my opinion. Possessions are nice to have but you can't take them with you. The love of family and friends are more valuable and more treasured and memories will last forever. I am so grateful for all my family and friends and for the love and support you give to me. I love each of you and appreciate each of you so very much. Well, I guess I will close for now. I am just so very thankful for all I have. This has a been a great summer and it is just going to get even better. With 2 new grand babies soon to arrive and my great surprise!!
